Where Are The Churches This Election Year

Manteca has a sizable community of churches and other religious organizations and yet none of them seem to be involved in their local politics. Why is that?

I'm just going to say it because no one else will. This might offend others, but it's the gospel truth. It's because of their stupidity. Pure ignorance. Too many excuses they give to not get involved and voice their concerns about their community. They do not realize how much power they have and what they can do. They can pretty much do whatever they want except take donations for any candidate and tell their congregation on who they should vote for. Other than that, it's fair game. If you want to find out what you can do, contact Focus on the Family Action Center and they will give you all the legal information you can use for your churches.

Now why don't they do it? It seems that some are getting behind the Proposition 8 fight against homosexual marriage in California which they should have fought much earlier and not allowed it to even become law. Some are coming out and the rest are hiding and silently keeping to themselves.

The election in Manteca has now become a focal point of greed and need. The current incumbents have raised a record amount of money in order to pay for services to sell to voters why they need to vote for them in November. How come we don't have a single church inviting these candidates into their pews and speaking on the issues?

This is a concern to me as it involves everyone and it is important that we know who these candidates are and where they stand on the issues, moral and other. Where are you ministers and pastors? Start inviting them and let's find out just who they are shall we?
