Vince Hernandez Has No Ideas For Manteca

The race is on and already we are getting more than an ear full of what the current city council incumbents will continue to do for our city and that's more of the same.  The only ideas they now have are 'how do we spin this in such a way that we appear different in our ideas?'

I'm not convinced and neither are the citizens of Manteca.  Vince ran a campaign on 'Heal our City'.  He now runs a campaign on 'Keep our Manteca Pride.'  What pride?  Let's see what we can come up with the pride.

Vince Hernandez is proud of:

1.  The highest taxes in the county more than any other city.
2.  Too many empty new office and business and retail spaces and he wants more of them.
3.  Proud that he got an expensive lighted covered port costing hundreds of thousands of dollars that could have went to the city police department for public safety.
4.  Proud of the fact that our city streets are so full of holes, and so is our budget and financial accounts from reckless spending.
5.  Wants to allow the owners of downtown to make the decisions for how to spend out tax dollars on their properties and not the voters such as how Anderson and Behling want to do.
6.  Continues to allow Lathrop to use our city animal shelter when they should build their own.
7.  Has no clue on public safety and how it operates.
8.  Believes that having a surplus of office space and buildings and waiting it out hoping for an economic recovery.  This is actually helping the recovery of the developers that give money into his campaign.

Clearly we have no ideas here.  It's all more of the same and we can't afford to have more of this.  We need new ideas on the board and we need new blood to usher it in.  John Harris and Vince Hernandez no longer are effective in Manteca and should be voted out of office.  Our economy and position is not good and our taxes are too high and money is recklessly being spent with no regard to the citizens.

I agree with the comments here. Vince Hernandez selling his vote to the highest bidder is really the least of his many issues. Let me get it right out in front that I know Vince Hernandez. He is not only the worst sort of municipal politician, he is also a racist and sexist. Though it might be of short-term benefit to Manteca's Hispanic community to have such a biased bigot in office, it is not in keeping with the values and traditions that make this country great. I am dismayed to see that the voters of Manteca have re-elected Mr. Hernandez to another term.
