As you know, we are two or three days from a possible vote -- or a non-vote passage via the unconstitutional "Slaughter Solution" -- on the government-run health care bill in the U.S. House.
Barack Obama is thrilled that liberal Democrat congressmen Dennis Kucinich of Ohio and John Garamendi of California have pledged to support the bill, despite no "public option" that they were demanding previously.
Meanwhile, Rush Limbaugh and conservatives all over the nation -- including SaveCalifornia.com -- have gone "Code Red" -- targeting swing Democrats to demand they oppose this socialized medicine bill that takes away people's liberty and responsibility.
The Capitol Switchboard has been overwhelmed all these week. But we're encouraging you to call today, even if you've already made calls. You must fight harder now to avoid grieving on Sunday or Monday that Obamacare has passed.
ACT NOW: Please call your congressman to say "Oppose the Senate health care bill, oppose the House reconciliation bill, and oppose the so-called Slaughter Solution." The two main numbers for the Capitol switchboard (just provide your congressman's name or your zip code) are 202-225-3121 and 202-224-3121.
- Californians, send a prewritten message to your own U.S. Representative
- Direct phone and fax numbers of the 4 "undecided" Democrats in California
A coalition of labor unions and liberal groups are spending $11 million to pressure swing Democrats to jam through Obamacare. Moderates targeted | Latest vote count
The Democrats in charge of the U.S. House are actually considering unconstitutional, outrageous shenanigans. Believe it or not, the process is as bad as the substance. Not only is the government-run, pro-abortion Senate bill coming up for a vote, but Democrat House managers are trying to also push through socialized medicine through a "reconciliation bill" and even an unconstitutional "rule" that would "deem" a bill passed without a vote!
The so-called "Slaughter Solution" to pass a bill without voting on the specific bill violates Article I, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution, which reads:
"Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively."
But the substance of the bill is just as bad. At its core, the Senate "health care" bill lays the foundation for full-blown government-run health care in the future, which is why liberals who want the so-called "public option" are supporting it now.
The Senate "health care" bill now before the House would:
- Fund abortions
- Lead to rationing of care
- Raise taxes
- Cost $2.3 trillion over 10 years
- Saddle your children and grandchildren with burdensome debt
Why is this happening? As Samuel Adams, a courageous and very Christian founding father, wrote, "No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders."
– Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, 1775
Here's the solution: Instead of passing a bad bill making government bigger and increasing costs for responsible Americans, Congress should start over and pass a bill that:
- Offers tax incentives for insurance plans that reward people for healthy lifestyle choices
- Permits Americans to shop for coverage across state lines without a new federal bureaucracy
- Allows small businesses to pool together and offer health care at lower prices, just as unions and big corporations do
- Frees up states to do innovative reforms that make coverage more affordable
- Limits outrageously high lawsuits which are the cause of unnecessary tests and the hiking of doctor's malpractice insurance, which has caused my insurance to skyrocket
- Stops forcing hospitals to treat irresponsible people for any reason at no cost, which made responsible people pay more and has resulted in the closure of many emergency rooms
Californians, target these 4 Democrats
There are three "undecided" Democrats and one "leaning yes" Democrat in California that need to receive a flood of phone calls every day at every one of their offices, over and over, from people who oppose government control of health care. Not to be trusted, these four Democrats voted for the health-care takeover bill in November, but are "on the edge" now. We're prioritizing two Central Valley Democrats who are in danger of voting "yes" because there may be a deal to trade their votes for water.
Call these four, especially if you live in their districtPhone their Washington DC and district offices, then visit/protest
1. Congressman Dennis Cardoza (Democrat – Merced)
Cardoza already voted for Obamacare in November and cannot be trusted this time. He voted yes for House health care bill in November, but first voted yes on the Stupak Amendment banning federal abortion funding as cover for his pro-abortion record.

Next to him was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. When the Philistines banded together at a place where there was a field full of lentils, Israel's troops fled from them. But Shammah took his stand in the middle of the field. He defended it and struck the Philistines down, and the LORD brought about a great victory.
